Equally thrilling is the shorter distance of The Ride, designed for riders who crave speed without sacrificing challenge. The race will start at 8:45 am on Saturday, April 4th, 2026, from the central square of Sparta, right where the iconic statue of Leonidas proudly stands. The route stretches over 64 kilometers and packs in 1,150 meters of elevation gain, making it a compact yet demanding experience.
Cyclists in The Ride will battle for glory in both a Climbing Sprint and a Flat Sprint, offering opportunities for strategic racing and explosive efforts. The winners of The Ride will receive the prestigious L’Étape Jerseys, with additional awards for the top riders in each age category.
This year’s route offers a fresh and captivating journey through Laconia’s legendary terrain, from the olive-covered hills and fertile plains around Sparta to picturesque villages and winding mountain roads. Riders will experience the rugged beauty of the Peloponnese, the region’s rich history, and the unique energy that only the land of warriors can provide.
